Mithrandir Farm is nestled on 75 acres of woods in historic Saratoga Springs, New York. It is maintained by Eileen and Patrick Gerdes, along with their children - Sydney, Kyra and Nicole.
Mithrandir Farm was born when we finally realized our dream of owning and operating a small farm. We began raising sheep, turkeys, chickens, goats and cattle for meat, milk, wool and eggs in an effort to become more self-sufficient.
Nigerian Dwarf goats quickly won our hearts and are the main focus of the farm. The goats are kind enough to share the farm with horses, a small flock of sheep, two dogs; including a Maremma livestock guardian, two cats and various poultry.
We are now exploring our options with our new team of driving Haflingers - Nathan and Nelson. A hardy thanks to Ernie Bisette, our mentor and teacher, for his time and support.
Sydney is now at University of Maryland studying engineering so she is selling her herd! She is in our thoughts and prayers.
Herd tested negative for CAE in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Our foundation herd has been built with quality show goats from Dragonfly Farm, Dawnland Farm and Doubletree Farm. We test our whole herd annually for CAE and every other year for Johnnes. We routinely inspect for CL. We also participate in ADGA's linear appraisal program annually.
Our goats are dual-registered with ADGA and AGS.
