Mithrandir Farm is nestled on 75 acres of woods in historic Saratoga Springs, New York. It is maintained by Eileen and Patrick Gerdes, along with their children - Sydney, Kyra and Nicole.
It was born when we finally realized our dream of owning and operating a small farm. We began raising sheep, turkeys, chickens, goats and cattle for meat, milk, wool and eggs in an effort to become more self-sufficient.
Nigerian Dwarf goats quickly won our hearts and are the main focus of the farm. The goats are kind enough to share the farm with horses, a small herd of Dexter cattle, a small flock of sheep, three dogs; including a Maremma livestock guardian, two cats and various poultry.
We are having an excellent year with 26 healthy goat kids! In addition, one of does - Calypso got a 90 on her linear appraisal!! We are so thrilled. Xtra, Rossi and Gaia were close behind with 89. See our senior doe page for details. THANKS AGAIN to Melinda of Doubletree for these beauties! She also has other fine animals available so please contact us if you are interested.

Our foundation herd has been built with quality show goats from Dragonfly Farm, Chenango Hills and Doubletree Farm. We only buy from herds that are tested and found negative for CAE and Johnnes. We test our whole herd annually for CAE and Johnnes and routinely inspect for CL.
We would like to acknowledge and thank Joanne Karohl from Dragonfly Farm; David Funk from Chenango Hills and Melinda Widmark of Doubletree Farm. Their animals are outstanding and the knowledge they freely share is priceless and greatly appreciated!
All of our goats are dual-registered with ADGA and AGS.
